Swimmers are assigned to practice groups based on physical conditioning and ability. Every effort is made to ensure that the swimmers are in groups that encourage and promote refinement of skills and the development of necessary conditioning.
Blue Group:
Usually comprised of all 8 and under swimmers. Some new 9 and 10 year old swimmers may be placed in the Blue group, if deemed appropriate by the coaches. Blue group practices 1 hour twice a week after school, plus most Saturdays. Attendance requirement is 65%.
White Group:
Usually comprised of 9 and 10 year old swimmers. White group practices 1½ hours twice a week after school, plus most Saturdays. Attendance requirement is 70%.
Red Group:
Usually comprised of swimmers between 9 and 12 years old. Some new incoming older swimmers may be placed in this group. Red group practices 1½ hours three days a week after school, plus most Saturdays. Attendance requirement is 75%.
Silver / Bronze Group:
Usually comprised of swimmers between 12 and 14 years old. Swimmers must have maintained a suitable level of conditioning to enter the Silver / Bronze group. Silver / Bronze group practices two hours three days a week before school, plus most Saturdays. Attendance requirement is 80 – 85%.
Gold Group:
Usually comprised of swimmers 15 years old and older. Gold group practices two hours, five days a week, plus most Saturdays. Attendance requirement is 90 – 95%.
Junior / Senior Group:
Highest level practice group. Usually comprised of swimmers 15 years old and older. Swimmers must apply for consideration to become a part of this group. A total commitment is a must, with no exceptions. Swimmers must also fulfill the requirements for selection to this group. Attendance requirement is 95 – 100%.
